Got back from the recruiter’s office today. My prize for being good was a little piece of paper:

Whoo. Apparently I leave for Basic late November, for 8 1/2 weeks. Not that I don’t mind going over Thanksgiving…and Christmas…and New Year’s…but I am going to be incredibly bored for the next three months.
I got the job I wanted, though, and according to About.com, I work with computers. Don’t really understand most of the blah-blah-blah on the site, so I’ll need to research a little more. One of the other guys in the group waiting to leave is doing the same job, and he says the technical training (comes right after Basic) is at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi, right on the Gulf coast. Good thing I’ll be there during spring.
In the mean time, however, I’m gonna need something to occupy myself aside from the bi-weekly mile runs (oh my god, my spleen), otherwise I’m going to be bored out of my mind.
